Thank you to our new neighbors in Somers. We are delighted to be joining this Village as we start construction on the Pritzker Archives & Memorial Park Center. Celebrate with us as we break ground in the community.
If you live near our new development, you may have received a postcard in the mail about the project.
This postcard allows you to literally put down some roots of your own by planting it in your yard. Once you’ve read the postcard and visited our website, find a sunny patch and bury the card under a thin layer of soil (at least an inch or two deep). In the spring, beautiful wildflowers will bloom where you planted the postcard.
The Pritzker Archives & Military Park Center shares the gift of reading with neighbors living in the area surrounding the development by delivering the book Zero to Hero: From Bullied Kid to Warrior, by Allen J. Lynch. Published by The Pritzker Military Museum & Library, Medal of Honor recipient Al Lynch tells the inspiring story that takes him from bullies on the playground in 1950s Illinois, to the enemy on the battlefield in Vietnam, to the demons of PTSD he’s battled ever since.
As a tribute to our veterans, we invite everyone in the Village of Somers to raise an American flag on November 11th.
Don’t have a flag or need a new one?
Somers residents can pick up a free flag or flag kit at David Leet American Legion Post #552 (8229 12th St, Somers, WI) beginning November 6, 2020 through Wednesday, November 11, 2020 between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
American flags are donated by the Pritzker Military Foundation in celebration of the Pritzker Archives & Memorial Park Center groundbreaking and in honor of all veteran heroes on Veterans Day. For the health and safety of the community the American Legion has set up a drive-thru system for flag pick-up. One flag per vehicle. First come, first served while quantities last!
